Move-Out Cleaning: What to Do and When to Book

A move-out cleaning is designed for an empty or mostly empty home. Cleaning around stacked boxes means the surfaces underneath get skipped and you pay for time spent working around obstacles.

The best sequence is: movers out, trash and debris removed, then cleaners in the following day.

Leave a buffer before the walkthrough

Schedule the cleaning at least a day before your final walkthrough or settlement. That buffer gives you room to handle anything unexpected — a repair, a forgotten closet, a late trash pickup.

What is not included

Move-out cleaning does not include hauling away furniture, trash piles or construction debris. If those are still in the home, remove them first or arrange a separate haul-away.
